HOLDERNESS SCHOOL EXHIBIT
CSS planning and design work will be exhibited at the Edwards Art Gallery at the Holderness School in Holderness, NH. The exhibit, entitled "The Design of Urban Greenways: Roadway Railways and Riverways", will be on display from April 5 - May 29, 2013.

SUMNER LAMSON PLAYGROUND, EAST BOSTON, MA

OHIO'S FIRST DESIGN-BUILD FIANCE PROJECT, CLEVELAND, OH
CSS has been engaged to develop design guidelines and landscape/urban design plans for Ohio's first "Design Build Finance" public works project, The Eastbound I-90 Bridge over the Cuyahoga Valley. CSS led an extensive continuing engagement program that culminated in formal adoption by the City of Cleveland's Planning Commission.

NEPONSET RIVER GREENWAY PROJECT, GREATER BOSTON AREA, MA
CSS is proceeding with the design of the final link in the Neponset Greenway. Design is scheduled to be complete Fall 2013.

HARTFORD BUSWAY TOD IMPLEMENTATION, HARTFORD, CT
CSS is working with the Capitol Region Council of Governments and the municipalities of Hartford, Newington, West Hartford, and New Britain to further TOD implementation around four of the busway stations.

PARCEL 24, BOSTON, MA
CSS completed the final design of site work for the residential development at Parcel 24 in Boston. The project is scheduled to break ground in late Spring 2013.

RINDGE AVENUE HOUSING, CAMBRIDGE, MA
CSS completed the design of site work for a new housing development in Cambridge. Construction has begun and is scheduled to complete in 2013.

AWARDS
TUCKER DESIGN AWARD
CSS, along with Gustafon Gunthrie Nichol, has been awarded a Tucker Design Award for the North End Parks.
PRESENTATIONS
CSS AT BUILD BOSTON
CSS participated in Build Boston on November 15, 2012 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Deneen Crosby and Josh Burgel discussed the Green Line Extension Project in the seminar, Green Line Extension: 21st Century Addition to a 19th Century Network. The seminar provided a broad-based overview of the various design elements and challenges faced by the preliminary design team and how their successful collaboration with the three municipalities helped strengthen their final designs and the project as a whole.

SUMNER LAMSON PLAYGROUND
Sumner Lamson Playground in East Boston opened on November 9, 2012; Sumner Lamson is CSS' most recent constructed park in the City of Boston.

TOWPATH TRAIL GROUNDBREAKING

DEFILIPPO PARK
DeFilippo Playground in Boston's North End opened on June 22, 2012. North End Waterfront covered the opening; click here to read the story and see more photos!

Congratulations to the Boston Parks and Recreation Department - a new report from The Trust for Public Land ranked Boston's city park system 3rd in the United States!

FORMER CANTON AIRPORT
Construction of the Former Canton Aiport began in June, 2012.

MISSION PARK - KEMPTON STREET
Construction of Kempton Street in Mission Park began in April, 2012.

GREENLINE EXTENSION PRELIMINARY DESIGN
The preliminary design of the Greenline Extension Project, which included seven new stations and corridor improvements, was completed in April, 2012.

WAYLAND HIGH SCHOOL
The new Wayland Highschool opened its doors to students on January 3rd, 2012.

BSLA AWARDS
Two CSS projects received 2011 Boston Society of Landscape Architects Awards. The North End Parks won an Honor Award in the Parks and Recreation Facilities category, and the Former Canton Airport Remediation and Reuse Master Plan won a Merit Award in the Landscape Analysis and Planning category.

APA AWARDS
CSS' Columbia Point Master Plan received the 2011 Comprehensive Planning Award from the APA, which honors a plan, program, or process of unusually high merit.
PRESENTATIONS

DESIGN CHARETTE - EMERALD NECKLACE CONSERVANCY
On Friday, December 9th, 2011, Carolyn Campbell and Diane Lipovsky gave a presentation and conducted a design charette for the Emerald Necklace Youth Leadership program. They examined Olmsted's legacy of urban parks and parkways and its relationship to CSS' masterplan and site design for Canton Airport.
