The dismantling of the Central Artery reclaimed a 70,000 square foot strip of land, known as Parcel 24, for Boston's residential Chinatown neighborhood. CSS is currently designing Parcel 24's central open space, which descends a total of 24 feet, connecting busy Albany Street above to quiet residential Hudson Street below. The landscape includes open lawn, patios, a sculptural pool and an elevated pathway over a planted slope, creating overlooks and varied experiences for pedestrians.
