Description
CSS was responsible for the context-sensitive design on the multi-disciplinary team conducting a Major Investment Study of the Cleveland Innerbelt Freeway System for the Ohio Department of Transportation. The study is approaching the end of its useful life and decisions need to be made on facility rehabilitation and/or placement.
As CSS Project Manager, Skip Smallridge conducted workshops with members of the Innerbelt Scoping Committee and invited community representatives to develop a “design theme” of the recommended alternative. The theme identifies and details specific highway architectural elements and landscape solutions that integrate the highway into the various historic neighborhoods through which it passes.
