CSS, as a consultant to Lake MetroParks in Lake County, OH, created the design for a stairway connecting to Lake Erie. The 40′ tall stair will link the Lake Metro Parks’ Lane Road Shelter with the beach via a series of panoramic overlooks and rest areas. Designed with minimal columns, the stair floats above the embankment, decreasing impact to the bluff landscape which is home to rare species such as Bald Eagles, Seaside Spurge, Willow Flycatchers, and White-eyed Vireos. The project is scheduled to begin construction in Fall 2017.
