Description
This 900-acre district at the northern boundary of downtown Newport is poised to become a new gateway to downtown and a major new mixed-use district with its own identity, focused on a new intermodal transit center. CSS lead the land use and urban design team and, in concert with economic development, traffic, parking and transit specialists, developed the overall master plan and specific development proposals, with a focus on retail, entertainment, recreation and housing. The waterfront Naval Hospital site plan features 150-200 units of housing, a waterfront park, and a marina.
